It was so surreal to have my personal front-row experience at Chanel’s Spring Summer 21 show this season. Although I wouldn’t have got an invite to the coveted event had it have been in person, I can’t help but long for the old times- hustling around at fashion week. This time was different, and don’t get me wrong I am eternally grateful to be able to watch Virginie Viard’s vision in real-time, but I wonder if virtual shows will continue to be the new normal for fashion. On that note, let’s talk about Chanel’s newest collection.
The runway was a beautiful white set with large letters that spelled out Chanel. The almost ethereal ambiance contrasted the youthful theme of the collection that cohesively celebrated crop tops, logomania biker shorts, and extremely tiny bags. Of course, the house of Chanel did show an ode to the classic Chancel client as well with their tailored monochrome suits and asymmetrical dresses.
The theme of this season could be seen as vibrant with a chic, cool-girl aesthetic. Scroll down for the entire collection!
