F/W 2020 Cynthia Rowley

There has never been another show that has made us want to jump out of our seats and dance like there’s no tomorrow. Cynthia Rowley brought an immense amount of energy to the final few days of NYFW FW20.

Not only was the clothing fun and groovy, but the theatrics of it all lay in the interaction between the runway and the crowd. Models covered with a black overcoat meekly sitting among unsuspecting audience members would get up on cue to reveal a dazzling piece of Cynthia Rowley tailoring. The immersive experience was supplemented by the fresh and fun 90s strut by each girl on the runway.

We could go on about how being at this show was like a giant party with the choice of music and whole vibe, what added on to that, of course, was the creativity in each piece of clothing. We loved the elements of tulle, zippers, satin, flares and florals- an offbeat take on fall with the intention to keep the looks seasonless. New and unconventional shapes and pairings added to the fun.

Every piece on this unorthodox runway is being produced in limited quantities, keeping fashion’s impact on the environment in mind. Cynthia Rowley embraced the incorporation of the unexpected- a true reflection of her journey and approach as a designer.
